Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to use our website. Here you’ll find the current state of accessibility on wellenwerk-berlin.de and a way to report barriers to us.

This English translation is provided for convenience. The German version is legally binding.

Scope

This accessibility statement applies to the website wellenwerk-berlin.de operated by Wellenwerk Berlin GmbH & Co. Sport KG. It is published in accordance with the German Act on Strengthening Accessibility (BFSG), which has been in force since June 28, 2025. The applicable standard is the European standard EN 301 549, based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.

Current state of compliance

This website is partially compliant with the requirements mentioned above. As part of the redevelopment (2026 relaunch), the following was implemented, among other things:

  • Sufficient color contrast (all text/background combinations at least 4.5:1, verified by calculation)
  • Full keyboard operability, including a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the content
  • Semantic heading structure and alternative text for images
  • Respect for the system setting “reduced motion” (prefers-reduced-motion)
  • Labeled form fields and meaningful link text
  • Zoomability up to 200% without loss of function (responsive layout, relative font sizes)

Content that is not yet accessible

The following areas are currently only accessible to a limited extent:

  • Booking flow (bookings.wellenwerk-berlin.de): Booking runs through embedded software from our service provider, Bookinglayer. We have only limited influence over its accessibility; we are in contact with the provider about this.
  • Older PDF documents (e.g., press downloads) may not be fully prepared for accessibility.
  • Video content: The hero video is purely decorative and has no sound; captions will be provided for future videos that carry informational content.
