Advanced Surfing

From your first independent take-off to competition training: the Intermediate Session and Training Sessions take you step by step further on Berlin’s only indoor surf wave.

From the Intermediate Session to the Training Session

After your first Beginner Session, you move on to the Intermediate Session, usually from your second or third session onward. Two coaches guide the group here: you practice getting in without the support bar and work on better turns, on a wave around 1.5 m high.

Once you can get in on your own and feel confident, you move up to the Training Sessions: the classic format runs 60 minutes in a group of up to 12 people, or choose the intensive variant at 30 minutes with a maximum of 6 people if you want as much wave time per head as possible. Softboards, lycra suits and a helmet if needed are included; hardboards can be rented on site. All formats run year-round and independent of weather, so you plan your training, not the swell.

And in the evening the wave becomes an event: Surf Night runs regularly on Saturday evenings, 90 minutes of surfing with atmospheric lighting and music. More on the Events page.

Frequently Asked Questions for Advanced Surfers

How do I know I’m already “advanced”?

Here’s the path: in the Intermediate Session (usually from your second or third session onward) you practice getting in on your own and your turns with two coaches. Once you can get in on your own and feel confident, you move up to the Training Sessions. If you’re not sure, our team on site will help you figure it out.

What’s the difference between a Training Session and Surf Night?

The Training Session is built for training: the classic format runs 60 minutes with up to 12 people, or the intensive variant runs 30 minutes with up to 6 people. Surf Night is our evening event, held regularly on Saturday evenings with 90 minutes of surfing, atmospheric lighting and music.

What’s the difference between the classic and intensive Training Session?

Classic: 60 minutes, up to 12 people. Intensive: 30 minutes, up to 6 people, a smaller group, shorter and punchier, with noticeably more waves per head.

Is a multi-session pass worth it for me?

Yes, if you want to surf more often: multi-session passes are valid for 3 years, usable across all levels and available from 2 sessions, and you choose your dates flexibly in the booking portal.

Can I bring my own board or rent one?

Softboards are included in the session, hardboards can be rented on site, and you’re welcome to bring your own hardboard. Mind the size: on the standing wave, people typically ride smaller boards than is usual in the ocean.

Is there coaching for me, not just free surfing?

A surf coach is present at every Training Session and gives you direct feedback. Occasionally there are also intensive coaching sessions with special surfers like Valeska Schneider; we announce these dates in the Magazine and in the newsletter.
