Learn to surf in Berlin: no experience needed
You’ll be up on the board in your very first session. Our coaches guide you step by step on Berlin’s only indoor surf wave.
Most people land their first turns in their first session. Falling is part of it, the water is soft, and your coach is right there beside you. All you need: swimwear. That’s it.

Your first session: no ocean, no excuses
Never been on a surfboard before? That’s exactly what the Beginner Session is for. A short warm-up gets your body ready, then it’s straight into the water: our surf coaches walk you through the basic position, your balance, and how to stand on the artificial wave. Because our wave runs constant and weather-independent, you can focus entirely on the movement instead of dealing with currents or swell.
At the start of your session, a support bar at the pool edge gives you something to hold on to while you find your stance and balance, before you try standing freely on the board for the first time. Wave height and speed are adjusted for beginners, so you grow into your level instead of the other way around. Board, wetsuit and, if needed, a helmet are all provided, you just need swimwear and a towel.
Great for families too: The Beginner Session isn’t just for adults. Parents and kids (from age 6, 30 kg) surf together in the same session. For kids who’d rather stick with their own group, there’s the Kids Surf & Splash Session.

Frequently asked questions from beginners
Do I need any experience to take part?
No. The Beginner Session is made exactly for people who’ve never stood on a surfboard, or only rarely have. Our coaches take you through everything from scratch.
What happens if I fall?
Falling is part of it, it’s completely normal and happens in every session. The water is soft, there are no sharp edges, and your coach stays right beside you the whole time.
What’s the support bar and what’s it for?
The support bar at the pool edge gives you something to hold on to at first, while you find your stance and balance on the wave. That way you’re already standing steady in your first session, before you move freely on the board later on.
What do I need to bring?
Just swimwear and a towel. Board, wetsuit and a helmet if needed are included in the price.
What’s the minimum age to join as a beginner?
From age 6 and at least 30 kg. Under-18s need to bring a signed liability waiver from a parent or guardian, after that they can take part without an adult present.
What comes after the first session?
Most people move up to the Intermediate Session by their second or third time: two coaches work with the group on getting up on your own without the support bar and on your first real turns. If you want a more structured approach, book the surf course, with both theory and practice.

One session not enough?
Plenty of people stick with it after their first session. A multi-session pass gets you several sessions at a better rate, freely combinable across all levels and valid for 3 years.
Ready for your first wave?
No ocean, no experience needed, just you, the wave and a coach by your side.
